Hello I m one of the former owner keeper of the humanoid, I have 30 years experience in collecting carded figures. Hi owned the humanoid for a few years and had to sell it. It is real and graded by afa 70 due to poor card and tear on back There are others out there that I have seen The one that was talked about on the forum was the one I owned I bought it from mark huckabee and it was graded and tested by Tom derby that has seen other examples. The humanoid is in Ireland in the hands of a collector. I have had over 2000 vintage carded figures in the past as I used to collect and sell black hole and star wars, and I can assure you it was real and not a reseal or fake.here is the photo of him on the cabinet when I HD him, note there s no name plate and none of the gig ones I have seen got the name p, ate as most figures where packed in a hurry at the end of the run complete or not for example, e I have in my new collection a star with no name p, ate and no pistol, and I used to have an old bob with missing claws carded. I hope this help resolve the humanoid debate.

Honestly I never found a 100% ORIGINAL CARDED GIG Humanoid in all my life. From my personal researches and interviews with Italian toy distributors could be very likely that Humanoid was never released to general public.

Well I have seen 2 mint carded and one badly damaged half carded, so they probably did a release to the public, as 3 carded figures would be more then the one they would do as a mock up prototype, I mean look at the adverts why would the advertise it and not sell, I know mine was real.

As I told you, I was here at the time the line arrived and in every store of Rome there were no Humanoid figures. In the following decades I asked about it to every Italian collector and nobody ever found a carded specimen....you can believe everything you want, you can also try to find loose ones, but here in Italy I have never ever seen a loose one for sale....That`s the reality, nothing more, nothing less. And, trust me, I have a certain experience collecting rare Black Hole figures ;-)

Last, but not least, GiG (and Mego in U.S.) advertised many other items that were never produced or released ( example: R/C Vincent, the Palomino etc....), so this doesn`t mean anything....

Well I m very familiar with the unproductive pieces and prototypes like palomino, or the bridge playset or remote control robot vincent and old bob magnetic gig. I too have had my fair share of dealing with the rare pieces I have had one gig carded humanoid in my colection and the loose one, funny that one I got from a dealer in italy the loose one in the late 80s when I started collection is name on ebay was darth fennel and he had lots lots if stock. I understand that you spoke to many people etc but I can promise you these was produced and sold, the second one I have seen here was owned by a very important uk toy dealer and he sold it then to a Canadian collector for 8000 $. In that time I thought this is crazy.and it made me worried and fear for me to find one at a good price. Remember one thing I have owned one held it in my hand and looked at it everyday in my cabinet, also what I said about afa and Tom derby checking it.afa would never put their reputation on the line.that is why they are toy Graders specialist.and they put a lot of effort when it comes to grade special rare pieces like humanoid. I understand your frustration but maybe one day you will come accross one.I m looking for another myself and I believe I will find one.

``frustration`` ... to bat70... for BH?
I really believe you did not understand the class of collector you`re talking to.

I think I do the man is probably like me obsessed with the black hole film and the toys. But I m talking facts. Fact I owned the carded gig humanoid that was talked about on here. Fact it was checked and graded by afa as authentic. Fact I have seen others with my own eyes Fact the figure of value that is talked about here regarding that humanoid are wrong, I know what I paid and what I sold it for. All I base myself on is fact. I will post a picture of my collection that I restarted building about a year ago.a lot of them are at the graders and due back anyway.

Fact is that me too I`m a collector of BH since 1997 and I know very well what we are talking about.

Well have you ever owned or seen one ? I m not trying to be little you or make you hangry etc I m coming here as a fan and fellow crazy guy about the black hole. My favourite card and run is by gig love the yellow logo over the ship and space scene, love that they completed the run and more adventurous and produced toys others didn`t like magnetic etc We are all brother in our common love

Bat 70 I have seen your dedication to the black hole, you have my respect. I believe there is an American collector that also has all 4 gig magnetic prototypes, I will have to search for his name, do you know whom I mean I think he also has the palomino prototype.. Also do u think that some of the carded humanoid are early production samples. Have you ever heard of a man called Sandford that was director at mego?

About the collector that has all the 4 GIG magnetic prototypes, I am very, very curious. You are not talking of DARTH-KRISS, right? He has 2 full sets of ORIGINAL MAGNETIC figures (VINCENT, STAR & MAXIMILLIAN) PROTOTYPES, plus the one and only OLD BOB.....He also has the ORIGINAL R/C VINCENT, a COMPLETE SET of 2-UP robots, the 1st proto of 3 3/4" Maximillian and much more.....If you are talking of him, Darth-Kriss, I mean, well, actually here it is, as it`s ME.

Jess it is you Wwwwwwwwwooooooowwwwwww , you are like a God of black hole to me , you must have been speaking to the same people I was speaking too on Rebelscum.I and other sites like Yahoo back in the day and vintage action figures. Small world yes I was very active then too , I know what you mean I was searching every where in the comics adds, to arts magazine getting faxes to all over the world to contact and connect with the correct people. What do you know about the assembly line of the production of the figures ? As almost everything was made in hong kong and later assemble in italy, Canada or usa, as I heard many rumours that quiet a lot was put together abroad too.ps please to meet you.and have you got a carded figures run and loose apart from prototypes ? Ok I asked if you knew or know Mr Sandford because he bought a lot of overstock cardback etc and had them assembled in Malaysia, to sell as stock that is where you get the figures that are incomplete or with error, like the upside down or back to front maximillian also some missing the base in the bubble, robot sentry and star missing the pistol, and figures with missing name plate.
